Fall European Flight Deals from Chicago

Posted on: September 7, 2017

As you know, I am constantly scouring the internet for a good flight deal.  Last week, I was looking on Google Flights (if you haven’t searched for flights here, you’re missing all the good deals) for flights to Prague and hit the jackpot!  I tend to look up flights to Prague on a weekly basis because my best friend lives there.  I haven’t seen anything for the past 9 months under $1,000 from Chicago and then last week they plummeted to $450 roundtrip!!  I found these fares on Iberia, British Airways, and Lufthansa.  I ended up booking through Lufthansa just because the flight times worked best for me, but all three airlines are good options.

So, if you’re living in Chicago and wanting to go to Prague, the next few months would be a good time to do it!  The flights remain under $500 through October and then rise a little in November and December, but still staying under $600 before Christmas.

All you have to do is go to Google Flights and type in Chicago to Prague and pick your dates, then Google will populate all of the airlines from least expensive to most expensive.  As you can see below, there are multiple airlines offering these flights!

And these flight deals aren’t just for Prague.  Another way you can search for cheap flights is to type in “Chicago to Europe” and expand the map on Google Flights.  Then you can set your price limit to whatever you’d like, in this case I did $600 for roundtrip fares (upper left corner) and searched on the map. As you can see below, Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Stuttgart, Munich and Zurich all pop up.  Not pictured on this map are Stokholm and Athens, which were also under $600.

Fall is my absolute favorite time to travel because all the summer flight prices drop significantly and you can get some incredible deals.  Happy flying! Xoxo
