It’s that time of year again… SPRING BREAAKKKKKK! As y’all know, I loveeeee traveling! You also know when I travel that I love to treat myself—from splurging on luxurious accommodations, indulging in the local cuisine, or having that extra glass of bubbly. However, I have been traveling pretty nonstop for about 5 years now and I wasn’t always able to “treat myself.” There were many, many years of budget hotels and even dirty hostels traveling through Europe. Even now, it’s not like I’m “above” budget accommodations by any means, as I still try to save wherever I can and only splurge here and there.

Recently, Motel 6 contacted me and invited me in to check out one of their new renovated locations. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect, as I have never stayed in a Motel 6, but being in the travel industry, I figured I should at least educate myself! I decided to take them up on their offer to check out the hotels and stay overnight, so that I could get the full experience.

Last week, I was down in South Florida, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity. I was going on a cruise for the weekend and then going to Tortuga Music Festival. I figured the night of Tortuga would be a great night to stay at Motel 6. When you’re spending so much money on an experience like Tortuga, you know you’re going to want to be there all day, enjoying every moment outside in the sun, and all you need is a clean, basic, and comfortable place to lay your head at night.

My friend Gina and I arrived at the Studio 6 (an extended stay version of Motel 6)[ in Fort Lauderdale/ Coral Springs and were pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the renovated rooms! The rooms were big and clean, and (most importantly) the beds were comfortable – we even had a small kitchenette.

The cost of the room was under $100 and we slept like babies! Again, as I mentioned, I always try to save wherever I can, and Spring Break is always a smart time to save. If you know you’re going to be outside at the beach or at an event all day while you’re on your Spring Break vacation, definitely look into Motel 6 [to grab affordable and comfortable rooms.
As always, make sure your hotel is in a safe area, travel with friends, and be aware of your surroundings if traveling alone. Be safe and happy Spring Break, kiddos! Xoxo
